A day of welcome, inclusivity and diversity - on Wednesday 17th March, we celebrated the beauty of our differences and our togetherness as one community.
It was a day to celebrate our diverse cultural backgrounds within our community and in Australia. Students were invited to dress in cultural or traditional clothing or orange - the official colour of Harmony Week.
Our Harmony Day celebration at the Secondary campus included an acknowledgement of country led by one of our Indigenous students, followed by our national anthem and a beautifully sung rendition of 'I Am Australian'. We continued the celebration of diversity with opportunities to share our family languages, a time of prayer with special intentions spoken in different languages and a number of cultural dance numbers.
In the Primary school, a special prayer circle was had with the children also sharing their cultural languages.

Our Year 2 students recently showcased their learning through a fantastic presentation on the impacts of harm in our ecosystems, particularly in our oceans 🌊🐠 Through creative reenactments, students explored the perspectives of marine life, learning about what ocean creatures need to live long, sustainable lives and the challenges they face. Last Friday some of our students represented the school with pride and gave their best efforts at the PDSSSC Cross Country held today at the Sydney Equestrian Centre. Students competed across a variety of distances including 3km, 4km, 6km and 8km events, demonstrating determination, resilience and outstanding sportsmanship throughout the day. Last week our Stage 3 students participated in the Paul Kelly cup. For the majority of our team, this was an introduction to AFL and our students demonstrated great skill in adapting to the new sport. There were lots of goals, marks and tackles which led to both our teams making it to the grand finals. Our girls ended up runners up with our boys running out winners on the day. On Wednesday evening, our students took part in the Vinnies Van outreach, serving those in need across Mount Druitt and Parramatta. 💙 From preparing sandwiches and packing the van to serving meals, our students showed great care, respect, and teamwork throughout the night. More importantly, they took the time to connect—sharing conversations and bringing a sense of community to those they met. It was an eye-opening experience, with many students reflecting on how meaningful these interactions were, recognising that for some, it’s the only chance they have to connect with others.
