Let’s work together!
Santa Sophia Catholic College acknowledges that parents and caregivers are the primary educators of their child. It is the mission of the college to form strong partnerships with all parents and caregivers to work together in helping all students grow and be the best version of themselves.

Parent Education Network (PEN)
The PEN will normally meet twice each term - in Week 3 and in Weeks 8-10.
In Week 3, we will hold a general meeting open to all parents and carers. Prior to the meeting, you will be invited to complete a ‘Have Your Say’ survey which will help inform the topics to be addressed by the Principal and the Heads of Schools.
In Weeks 8-10, we will hold another PEN meeting open to all parents and carers where an expert speaker will be invited to address topics identified by parents.
Santa Sophia Connect Facebook LIVE events
These focus on a variety of topics (digital technology, wellbeing and anxiety, helping your child with literacy and numeracy at home). At the start of the year we survey our parents on topics which would be valuable for them - and this forms the basis of the topics for the sessions. Parents can join in LIVE and ask questions during the session or watch the replay. You can find previous sessions on our Facebook Page or our Youtube channel.

School Events
During the year we have many opportunities for parents to be involved in school events such as carnivals, Masses and other celebrations. We encourage our parents to attend where possible so we can grow as a whole school community with students, teachers and parents.

We welcome the contribution volunteers make to the life of our school
As we are committed to keeping students safe, all volunteers in schools are required to complete the building child safe communities undertaking form and child protection training module before volunteering. These checks reduce potential risk and forms part of our strategy to build child safe communities.
