CSPD Students Turn Passion Into Success at NSW Training Awards

Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) has celebrated outstanding success at the 2026 NSW Training Awards (Western Sydney & Blue Mountains region) with five students and two teachers named as finalists - including two students who took home major awards.

Day 1 of Year 6 Camp – Canberra! 🇦🇺 Our Year 6 students have officially arrived in Canberra and are already having an incredible time! 🙌 Today, students stepped back into Australia’s political history with a visit to Old Parliament House, where they explored the importance of voting and the role democracy plays in shaping our nation. 🗳️ They also visited the Royal Australian Mint, discovering the fascinating process of how Australian coins are designed and made. 🪙 A fantastic first day full of learning, exploration and fun — and we can already tell they’re having the best time! 💙

Our Year 10 Spirituality Day was an incredibly engaging, reflective and faith-filled experience for all involved. 🙏✨ We were privileged to welcome Samuel Clear as our guest presenter, whose authenticity, humour and powerful storytelling captivated our students throughout the day. Through meaningful conversations and personal reflection, students were encouraged to think deeply about relationships, purpose, faith, compassion and the impact they can have on the world around them. Samuel inspired our Year 10 cohort to step outside of themselves, embrace connection and consider how they can be a source of hope and positivity for others. It was wonderful to witness the enthusiasm, openness and maturity shown by our students as they embraced the experience so wholeheartedly. A truly memorable day of faith, reflection and growth that will leave a lasting impact on our Year 10 students and staff alike. 💙 #Walk4one #SamClear

What an incredible day of community spirit and generosity! 🌭💙 Last week, we proudly partnered with Woolworths The Gables for a fundraising event supporting Variety Children’s Charity. Thanks to the amazing support of our families, staff, students and wider community, we sold over 500 sausages throughout the day — making the event a huge success! 🙌 A heartfelt thank you to all the parents, teachers and students who volunteered their time and energy to make the day possible. As one community of faith, our students and staff from Curiosity, Connect and Challenge gathered for our Term 2 Whole College Mass celebrating the Feast of Our Lady Help of Christians, Patroness of Australia. Following Pentecost Sunday, Fr Carlos reflected on the Holy Spirit as both water and fire — bringing life, renewal, courage and transformation. He reminded us that the gifts we receive from God are not meant to be kept to ourselves, but shared generously with others in service and love. Fr Carlos also spoke beautifully of Mary as the Mother of the Church, whose faith and trust continue to guide us today. He commended our students for the reverence and respect they demonstrated throughout the celebration, a wonderful reflection of the spirit of Santa Sophia Catholic College. Together in prayer, song and reflection, we were reminded that when we gather as one, we truly become the Body of Christ. 💙🙏🏻 #WholeCollegeMass #OurLadyHelpofChristians #PatronessOfAustralia

National Road Safety Week at Santa Sophia🚸 Santa Sophia acknowledged National Road Safety Week with a fun, college-wide Walk Safely to School event, focusing on the importance of pedestrian safety. It was a fantastic opportunity to promote safe habits, healthy routines, and stronger community connections among our students and families. We were also privileged to welcome officers from the NSW Police Force – Traffic and Highway Patrol Command, who visited our school to share important road safety messages, present their vehicles, and engage our students in an informative session. A big thank you to our police officers for their time, expertise, and commitment to educating our students on staying safe on our roads. 👏🚓 #NationalWalkSafelytoSchoolDay #RoadSafety

Year 10 at the Western Sydney Careers Expo 🎓 Yesterday, our Year 10 students attended the Western Sydney Careers Expo, exploring a wide range of future pathways including university, TAFE, apprenticeships, traineeships, and career opportunities. Students represented Santa Sophia with maturity and respect, engaging positively with exhibitors and asking thoughtful questions about their future pathways.
