Santa Sophia Catholic College prepares learners for life through wisdom, faith, hope and love.
We are a community where everyone is a learner and everyone takes responsibility for his/her own learning.
Within a Catholic faith environment, students learn how to be responsible global citizens, how to think creatively and critically, how to communicate and to work collaboratively. All of this will be underpinned by leading educational research and practice using today’s technologies.
Fostering new ways of teaching and learning
As a Catholic learning community', Santa Sophia is founded on the the best of what we know about contemporary learning and the experience of our exceptional educators. Our teachers are passionate and creative, inspiring a love of learning in students every day.
LEARN MOREWe inspire students to explore, innovate and challenge everything in their learning adventure
While content knowledge is important at Santa Sophia, we also place value on building a student’s capacity to ‘learn how to learn’. Santa Sophia develops student intelligence through knowledge, experience, creativity, and their thinking in ways that keep curiosity and imagination alert, keeping their innate love of learning burning bright.
LEARN MOREPreparing students to take their place in a changing world
Santa Sophia provides an alternative to traditional schooling and progresses young people through a developmental and student-centred approach to learning with a focus on ‘learning how to learn’. Santa Sophia aims to develop in students the skills they need for today and to prepare them for tomorrow with an emphasis on communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking.
LEARNINGConnecting with the Catholic faith and traditions
Religious education is more than formal instruction; it is a conscious pathway to the development of the whole person as a model of Christ and permeates all facets of life in a Catholic community. Its foundations are laid in the home and built in partnership within the parish community. The Catholic school is an entrusted participant in this collaboration.
LEARN MOREAffordable Catholic education
A quality Catholic education is affordable and accessible for every family! As a guide, the cost of a Catholic education is around $6-$8 a day for primary and $11-$18 a day a day for a child in Year 7*. Significant discounts apply for siblings.
LEARN MOREWellbeing and Pastoral Care
The relationship between the student and teacher is where the heart of all pastoral care lies. Santa Sophia Catholic College is building a warm, friendly and cooperative learning environment based on the Positive Behaviour Support for Learning (PBS4L) ethos. The school has established its core values of Wisdom, Faith, Hope and Love and is developing its ‘culture’ with these values at the core of all behavioural expectations.
