This week we held our Term 2 Santa Sophia Connect events on our Facebook page.
These online events are an opportunity for parents, or the general public, to find out more about the learning taking place at Santa Sophia Catholic College.
This week we focused on digital portfolios (Stage 4) and the use of Seesaw (Kindergarten).
Thank you to Mr De Vries, Mr Castellino, Ms Magistrado, Ms Musgrave and Ms Ganac who all provided their time in sharing information and answering questions from parents.
During the two evenings, a screen-share was conducted also so parents could see inside the Digital Portfolio or Seesaw and understand better how to access and interpret them

Congratulations to our talented dancers! Students recently represented our school at the PDSSSC Dance Competition with seven entries across various categories. Their hard work, dedication, and passion for dance shone through in their outstanding performances and results. We are proud to share that our Senior Lyrical Team achieved 1st place, our Junior Lyrical Team placed 3rd, and Lilly Harris was awarded 1st place for her Senior Solo performance. A special mention also goes to Aria Averillo and Chloe Bont, who participated in their first high school solo performances — an incredible milestone in their dance journey. This year also marked a special moment with our first Year 12 Cultural Routine, representing the school proudly and celebrating our community’s diversity through dance. All of this was made possible through the hard work of the students and the guidance of Mrs Ralston, who supported and guided these students throughout the year. And special mention to Mrs Swan who attended the event and has been in support of dance when Mrs Ralston was unavailable. Well done to everyone involved — your commitment and teamwork continue to make our school proud!

🎨✨ Recap of some exciting events from the end of Term 2! In Week 9, we held our Visual Arts & Photography Showcase — a vibrant celebration of creativity. From Year 6 Impressionist artworks to Year 11 sculptural forms and powerful photo series by Years 9–10, our students’ talent was on full display. Guests enjoyed delicious catering by our Hospitality students, led by Mrs Leanca Merring, while live music by our talented Year 12 students, under the direction of Mr Andrew Hudson, added to the atmosphere. A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated Visual Arts and Photography teachers, Mrs Karolina Ortega, Mrs Natasha Swan, Mrs Chloe Ralston, and Miss Natalie Donaldson, for their passion and efforts in bringing this inspiring evening together. 👏🎶
