On Tuesday 20 April, we welcomed parents on site for the first time in a very long time to witness our Easter Hat Parade.
Kindy, Year 1 and Year 2 students showed off their own creative Easter themed hats as they walked past crowds of proud parents. Some hats were adorned with Easter eggs and bunnies, while others made reference to the risen Jesus. The creativity displayed through all the colourful creations this year blew us all away.

Year 11 took part in the RYDA Road Safety Program at Homebush, exploring what it means to be active, responsible road users. ๐๐ก Through six engaging sessionsโincluding real-life scenarios, expert presentations, and hands-on activitiesโstudents learned about driver fatigue, speed and stopping distances, truck blind spots, driving laws, and safety features in modern vehicles. A standout moment was hearing from an inspiring car crash survivor, reminding us all of the power of safe choices behind the wheel. A powerful and eye-opening experience for all involved. ๐

Year 8 had an amazing day at their Spirituality Day this week! They were led by the Youth With a Mission team who engaged the students in meaningful activities on gratitude and trusting in God's plan for us all. The School of Curiosity was visited by Prof. Gerard O'Shea, an expert in Religious Education. He visited Year 2 and Year 3 where he modelled best practice in teaching our students and spent time with teachers to deepen their understanding and expertise in teaching the Catholic Faith at Santa Sophia. ๐โจ

NFL Flag NSW State South Championship ๐๐๐ A huge effort from our Flag Football team as they reached the State Final at their recent Gala day. This was the first time that SSCC had participated in Flag Football and their efforts on the day were exceptional placing second overall.
