Over the past three weeks, Kindergarten 2021 came to Santa Sophia for Orientation over three days, familiarising themselves with the classroom, its learning spaces, and play-based inquiry.
Kindergarten teachers, Miss Fitzalan and Mrs Finucane, took them through a typical day of school, beginning with prayer circle, a time of reading, and introducing them to the 5 L's of learning (eyes Looking, Lips closed, ears Listening, hands on Lap, Legs crossed and still).
Our hope is that Orientation will help them in their transition to 'big school' and when they arrive at the gates of school for their first day of Kindergarten next year, they'll be happy to see their new friends again, as well as their friendly, smiling teachers! A big welcome to the Class of 2033!
