On the 2nd of July, Santa Sophia Catholic College experienced the magic of the Reading Bonanza Day. To raise awareness and celebrate the introduction of Term 3, staff were inspired to dress up as characters within the novels studied in English.
Students not only voted on the best dressed teacher, they also participated in literacy games and quizzes that not only promoted their understanding of the novel but generated excitement for reading!
Primary students were also visited by some of the teachers who read them stories in character as part of the day.
It was a great way to end the term, motivating all teachers and students into the benefits and joy of reading.

Last week, Santa Sophia was very well represented at the Hills Zone Athletics Carnival with a team of 45 students competing across all events. The efforts of our students on the day were exceptional with many personal bests achieved throughout the day. Congratulations to our students for their efforts. A special well done to CJ on being named the Overall Senior Girls Age Champion. Good luck to Tahlia, Isaac, Aric, Noah, Enzo, Archie, Ella, Carter, and CJ who qualified for the Diocesan Carnival this Friday. Year 7 Camp | Day 1 🏕️ Our Year 7 students had an incredible first day of camp adventure! They embraced a range of new activities, from BMX biking and kayaking to indoor archery, games, and plenty of marshmallow toasting around the campfire 🔥. There’s been plenty of laughter, teamwork and engagement throughout the day, topped off with some delicious camp food! Congratulations to our Year 6 representatives, Scarlett and Justin, who proudly represented Santa Sophia at the Voice of Youth Cluster Finals! 👏 Both students delivered thoughtful and engaging speeches to an audience of around 300 people, sharing important messages with confidence and passion.
