On Monday 8 February, Year 1 had an awe-inspiring time taking a trip into outer space.
With thanks to Starr's Planetarium, we were lucky enough that the planetarium came to us!
The kids 'ooh'd and 'ahh'd as the sun , moon and planets moved all around them, learning so much about them along the way. They even went on an exciting adventure to the moon and back with Tycho the dog!
Next time, we might even get to visit Mars!

Over 200 students from Tokyo visited the college last Thursday and Friday. They took part in a variety of integration activities, tried Australian snacks, and shared a bit about themselves in classes. The Takanawa students also joined the college for sport, playing traditional Aussie favourites with our Stage 3 and Stage 5 students. It was wonderful to see them connecting with our students across both Connect and Challenge during recess and lunch. #JapaneseExchange #InternationalSchool #SchoolofConnect

✨ All Saints Day in our Open Classrooms! Today, parents were invited into our classrooms to see learning in action, join in prayer and praise, and take part in some special activities with their children. 🏅 NSW All Schools Championships // Congratulations to Ruari, Noah, and Milla who represented Santa Sophia at Sydney Olympic Park over the school holidays! - Ruari placed 14th in the 1500m - Noah finished 8th in the 3000m and 19th in the 1500m - Milla achieved 2nd in the 800m and 3rd in the 400m This is an outstanding achievement and we are incredibly proud of all three students for their dedication, effort and sportsmanship. 🌟

On Thursday 16th October, Professor Gerard O'Shea made his fourth visit to Santa Sophia this year. 🌟 As an expert in Religious Education for children, he modelled lessons to teachers in Year 3 and Year 1. Students were highly engaged in all of the activities which are based in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. He also spent time with staff members to nurture their professional development and understanding.
